With the exacerbation of climate risks, addressing climate-induced loss and damage through evidence-based policy and action is key to climate vulnerable regions. This side event aims to create a platform for constructive engagement among stakeholders on climate-induced loss and damage, with a particular focus on human mobility, cultural loss, youth engagement, and resilience-building through skill development and entrepreneurship. Based on country case studies from Ghana, Niger, and Uganda, as well as sharing lessons learnt and good practices from regional processes (such as the Kampala Declaration), the event will explore resources and support needs for possible solutions and pathways to address climate-induced loss and damage.
Through the sharing of case studies, good practices, and lessons learnt, this side-event aims to contribute to identifying steps towards better implementing action needed for addressing climate-induced loss and damagee through inclusive and evidence-based risk management efforts.
