Latin America faces significant climate-related risks and vulnerabilities, with increasingly frequent and intense climate change impacts already affecting countries, economies, and communities. To effectively address these climate-induced losses and damages, it is vital to ensure equitable and adequate access to finance and other resources.
However, there is currently a mismatch between the clear needs at national or local level and existing funding sources, which are often challenging to access due to complex procedures, capacity gaps, and administrative constraints. This webinar explores how access to funding—particularly for addressing loss and damage—can be enhanced through more inclusive and equitable mechanisms.
This webinar brought together diverse stakeholders—including government officials, financial institutions, researchers, and civil society representatives—to discuss ways to enhance access to climate funds for addressing loss and damage.
