In partnership with the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) of Uganda, SLYCAN Trust recently convened a webinar exploring the intersection of security, climate change, and human mobility in the Karamoja sub-region.The session presented the ongoing development of a case study examining how climate-related risks interact with multiple sectors, including environmental pressures, water and sanitation systems, food security and agriculture, livelihoods, health, public security, infrastructure, energy, education, and cultural dynamics.
The discussion highlighted the cross-sector linkages shaping climate vulnerability and human mobility in the region, and contributed to ongoing research, dialogue, and stakeholder engagement aimed at strengthening resilience and policy responses in Karamoja.
